More and more businesses understand that, in addition to a monthly bill, there is an environmental cost associated with turning on the power. Most of today’s energy is produced by fossil fuels, such as coal and oil, which create carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases when they burn.
If your company is concerned about the environment, the Make Me Green program from Strategic Energy is a choice that can offset a percentage of your consumption by supporting renewable energy. Make Me Green offers renewable energy certificates (RECs), which represent the positive attributes of electricity from renewable, or green, generation, such as wind, low-impact hydro, solar, biomass and others.
Make Me Green from Strategic Energy is Green-e Energy Certified and is available to commercial electricity consumers in any state (deregulated or not) and allows your business to green up supply from 0 to 100 percent of your annual usage or for a single event.

Green-e Energy is the nation’s leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy. This voluntary consumer protection program verifies superior, certified renewable energy options offered by retail electricity providers, like Strategic Energy, in the retail market.
When you see the Green-e Energy logo, it means:
| • |
The renewable energy option contains only new renewable resources;
|
| • |
The sources of energy supplying the renewable options are independently verified by Green-e Energy, operated by the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions;
|
| • |
The purchaser of a Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy option is the sole “owner” of the environmental attributes of a specific megawatt hour (MWh) of energy added to the grid. Independent verification ensures that no MWh are double counted; and
|
| • |
The company offering the certified renewable energy option agrees to abide by the Green-e Code of Conduct and Customer Disclosure Requirements governing its ethical treatment of customers. |
