Paul Dobson is Senior Vice President, Finance for Direct Energy Business. As such, he is responsible for supporting the growth of the business by ensuring a solid financial platform is developed and maintained.

Paul joined Direct Energy in 2003 as Vice President of Finance for Canada East, which included both downstream energy and home services.

In 2005, Paul and his family moved to the UK where he took up the post of Finance Director, British Gas Business (BGB).  During his 3 year tenure, BGB experienced tremendous growth with revenues increasing by 73% to over $5 billion and operating profits doubling to $260m.  Paul is a member of the European Financial Risk Management Committee and the Group Risk Management Committee. 

Before joining Direct Energy, Paul worked at CIBC for 10 years in various financial roles, most recently as VP & CFO of CIBC National Bank, a US retail bank.  

Paul earned an Honours BA from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and is a Certified Management Accountant.
